Court Appointed Special Advocates of the South Plains’ mission is to
provide a voice for every abused and neglected child in our area.
Recruiting and training volunteers to meet the demand is a challenge
that CASA is willing to face with the help and support of our
community; however, the number of children in need of assistance has
skyrocketed, giving the South Plains region the highest number of
confirmed cases of child abuse per capita in Texas.
Through our volunteer’s efforts, foster care for local children ends
six months earlier than the statewide average.
Six months may not sound like a long time, but to a child without a
permanent home, it is an eternity.
This time translates to a savings of $1.5 million in foster care
annually based on the number of children served.
The time our volunteers donate also saves the counties we serve more
than $300,000 in legal fees annually.
Because of a shortage of trained volunteers to serve the increasing
number of children entering the system, CASA of the South Plains may
have to turn our back on some of our community’s most vulnerable
citizens. We need your
financial help to recruit and train volunteers who will continue to
provide a voice for every abused and neglected child in our area.

You can’t control where an abused child comes from, but you can be a
part of where they end up. |
